Being young and naive at the time, and very tempted by the pay increase since it was a job in the non-profit field, I accepted. It was the longest three years of my life. I realized after leaving and taking a new job that I do better when I only have to worry about my own work performance, not the performance of others. I hope it all works out for you. The fact that you're already thinking of the challenges, though, speaks to why they find you a desirable candidate.Petuniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09289990758020051145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7974310250593007069.post-33208797479985331582014-03-28T09:19:51.928-04:002014-03-28T09:19:51.928-04:00My thoughts on this, My husband is like you, he di...My thoughts on this, My husband is like you, he did the being the boss thing and was MISERABLE. He just doesn't like it at all. So he stopped. And that is okay. In life we have to do the job that keeps us happiest, don't be the boss just for money, or power. Just say no, or try it out if the opportunity comes and step down if you don't like it. Take a deep breath! You just might rock being the boss! :-)Jen https://www.blogger.com/profile/03342697002647213656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7974310250593007069.post-24250297011163941792014-03-28T04:19:09.006-04:002014-03-28T04:19:09.006-04:00Just because the bigger boss is pissed off does no...Just because the bigger boss is pissed off does not necessarily imply that you boss is getting laid off any soon. Hopefully if/when this is proposed to you, you have the option to respectfully decline if you truly don't want it. But don't let fear or worry stop you from taking a chance, because it could turn out to the the best thing you can do for yourself! Good luck! Here via ICLW. But if they approach you for the position it's because they believe in you, which should give you some reassurance. It sounds like you already know at least half of the job, if not more, anyway! And remember that if after 6 months to a year you hate the position there is no shame in approaching the boss and telling them that you really feel like you were a better employee as an assistant manager and you think someone else would serve the company better as the manager. That lets them know you still want to work with them and have the best interests of the company in mind. And it gives you plenty of time to get into the new routines, find your own way to deal with personnel challenges and basically find your feet. :)Audrey ✄ TheIdeaGirl (@Squirkling)http://www.theideagirlblog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7974310250593007069.post-84497656932042147852014-03-26T08:20:16.674-04:002014-03-26T08:20:16.674-04:00Thank you :) I'm not sure I believe in soul ma...Thank you :) I'm not sure I believe in soul mates either. But for me, it just seems like the longer a person has lived, the more heartache they've had to endure. I'm really curious.

A few weeks ago, when we found out we were pregnant (again), I told my friend I was struggling with how to feel about it. I wanted input from the future me. I wanted to know if I would get to keep this baby, and so I should just relax and be excited? Or if this one would end too soon.

Future me just ended up being 1 week out.
